The Johnno’s Tasmania Story

Proudly Tasmanian owned and operated, the entire Johnno’s Tasmania range is made in our kitchen in Southern Tasmania.

Like so many other Tasmanian businesses Johnno’s Tasmania was founded on entrepreneurial spirit and a belief in our island’s world-renowned fresh produce.

Johnno’s Tasmania began as a market stall at the York Town Square Market when local Launceston resident Phyllis Johnston sent her son ‘Johnno’ to market with jars of homemade raspberry jam.  The stall was a terrific success, eventually growing into Johnno’s Home Made Jams and Sauces and run by the family for many years.

More than 30 years on, although Johnno’s Tasmania has grown significantly with a product range of more than 20 lines, we remain true to our values of delivering quality home style pantry staples and many of Phyllis’ original recipes are still used by our Chef today.

We support and source local, and our jams, sauces and condiments are made using the finest seasonal ingredients.

All Johnno’s Tasmania Products are Gluten-Free, Vegan and Vegetarian Friendly and contain no artificial preservatives.

Whether it’s raspberries from the Derwent Valley, quinces from the North West Coast and Tasman Peninsula or ripe red Tasmanian tomatoes, Johnno’s aims to work with the best local Tasmanian produce to give you that home made taste – just like Nanna used to make!
